George, Charlotte and Louis set for exciting holiday this summer with family | Royal | News

Balmoral Castle, in Scotland, thought to be the late monarch’s favourite residence, is where Prince William and Kate will most likely take their children for a summer holiday getaway, a royal expert has shared. It is also speculated that King Charles wants to establish something of a “familiar tradition” at Balmoral Castle.

Prince George, Princess Charlotte, and Prince Louis will be getting two extra weeks off during the summer holidays because of their private school attendance at Lambrook School in Windsor, which breaks up earlier than public schools. This will make it easier for the Royal Family to beat the school holiday rush and allow extra privacy during travels.

Speaking exclusively to OK! Magazine about the Waleses family plans, Tessa Dunlop said: “The family will almost certainly go up to Balmoral Castle in August.. burns and the Highland Games got to tick that Scotland box!”

Ms Dunlop further explained the link the family has with the castle: “I definitely think, given that the Queen died up in Balmoral Castle, and I think Charles will want to be establishing something of a familiar tradition up there, around the August period I think Kate and William would be expected to be there.”

It is also thought that privacy will be important for the family, as last year, a helicopter took them to their private jet so they could fly without attracting attention, according to the historian.

In 2021, the Waleses spent their summer holiday break in Tresco, which is also dubbed as the “Cornish Caribbean” and is one of five inhabited privately owned islands. They have often returned to the island, and it could be a firm favourite holiday destination among the family.

Ms Dunlop explained: “In 2021, The Prince and Princess of Wales along with their family were spotted on the Isles of Scilly, cycling on Tresco Island.”

Balmoral Estate was the late Queen Elizabeth’s much-loved personal residence, which was originally bought for Queen Victoria by Prince Albert in 1852 after the couple fell in love with the local countryside. Ever since then it has been passed on to successive generations of the Royal Family.

It is also likely the family will spend time at Anmer Hall, their Norfolk home on the Sandringham Estate. The couple is known to have a wide circle of friends nearby and also enjoy going down to Holkham Beach – which is often the background for a number of portraits taken by Kate of the children.
